  3. Prepare the Injection:
    • Check the expiration date on the vial.
    • Clean the vial’s rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
    • Draw the prescribed dose into the insulin syringe.
  4. Select Injection Site: Choose one of the areas mentioned above and clean it with an alcohol swab. Allow the area to dry.
  5. Administer the Injection:
    • Pinch the skin gently around the injection site.
    • Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle to the skin.
    • Push the plunger slowly to administer the dose.
    • Hold the needle in place for a few seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.
  6. Dispose of the Needle: Use a sharps container to safely dispose of the used needle.
  7. Apply Pressure: Use a cotton ball to apply gentle pressure to the injection site if there is any bleeding.
