Dosage Schedule
The standard FDA-approved dosage schedule for Semaglutide is as follows:
- First Month: 0.25 mg once a week
- Second Month: 0.5 mg once a week
- Third Month: 1 mg once a week
- Fourth Month: 1.7 mg once a week
- Fifth Month: 2.5 mg once a week

Areas for Subcutaneous Injection
You can inject Semaglutide in the following areas:
- Abdomen: Avoid the area within 2 inches of the navel.
- Thigh: Front or outer thigh.
- Upper Arm: Outer aspect of the upper arm.
Steps for Injection
- Wash Your Hands: Use soap and water before handling supplies.
- Gather Supplies: You will need the Semaglutide vial, an insulin syringe, an alcohol swab, and a cotton ball.
- Prepare the Injection:
- Check the expiration date on the vial.
- Clean the vial’s rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
- Draw the prescribed dose into the insulin syringe.
- Select Injection Site: Choose one of the areas mentioned above and clean it with an alcohol swab. Allow the area to dry.
- Administer the Injection:
- Pinch the skin gently around the injection site.
- Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle to the skin.
- Push the plunger slowly to administer the dose.
- Hold the needle in place for a few seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.
- Dispose of the Needle: Use a sharps container to safely dispose of the used needle.
- Apply Pressure: Use a cotton ball to apply gentle pressure to the injection site if there is any bleeding.
Potential Side Effects
During the Injection:
- Mild pain or discomfort at the injection site.
- Burning or stinging sensation.
After the Injection:
- Redness or swelling at the injection site.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Diarrhea or constipation.
- Decreased appetite.
- Abdominal pain.
- Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in patients taking other glucose-lowering medications.
- Injection site reactions.
If you experience severe side effects such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, severe abdominal pain, or signs of pancreatitis, seek medical attention immediately.
